30 Fun Date Ideas In The Tampa Bay Area That Aren't Just Dinner



  1. Top Golf Top Golf is a go-to favorite date whether you are 1:! or on a group date. Make it fun with a flirty bet before the games start. Best 2/3 wins ;)

  2. iFly iFly Tampa is one of my favorite things to do in Tampa Bay. It has an exceptional staff & it is seriously so exhilarating to fly in the wind tunnel.

  3. Catch live performances at Floridian We love the Art Deco setting and the incredible live performances that The Floridian offers. Our favorite is #NoFilter.

  4. Cooking Class at Sur La Table There are so many romantic dinner classes you can take together at Sur La Table. Plus you will leave knowing how to cook a new recipe at home.

  5. Beach bar drinks & a sunset walk. Grab a drink somewhere like Caddy's outdoor patio and then go for a walk on the beach as the sun is setting.

  6. Picnic at a park on the water My favorite option is Vinoy park. The sprawling park wraps around and connects to North Shore Park. The water's edge is lined in many areas with gorgeous palms and you can easily set up a hammock after your picnic and lazily watch for dolphins to put on a show while the sun sets.

  7. Kayak around the bay. Weedon Island or Shell Key is my favorite areas to kayak around. Paddling through the mangroves or exploring the small island gives you an opportunity to check out some of the wildlife, up close and personal.

  8. A concert at Janis Live or The Midflorida Amphitheater We have seen some great concerts at both locations including Maroon 5, Bryce Vine & Jason Aldean. Both are great venues. If you are going to a weekend concert at the amphitheater, it is also fun to make it a little staycation and book a room down the street at the Tampa Hard Rock.

  9. Take the dogs for a walk around St. Pete Pier While you're strolling around the pier, grab a drink or a snack and catch the live music that is usually playing between the park and the splash pad.

  10. Desert only at Bern's You definitely must get the bananas foster and have them made at the table in front of you. It is a great experience and a fantastic dessert all at once.

  11. Progressive Dinner at Armature Works Armature Works is a Tampa gem that has taken a really cool old building and transformed it into an incredible mix-use space with a gorgeous view of the Hillsborough River. There are numerous options for eating and drinking. A fun way to have a date night here is to pick one place to grab a drink, another place to grab an appetizer, another place to grab an entree and then another place for dessert. You get to try an assortment of flavors and sample many of the great eateries.

  12. Rooftop music at M.Bird M.Bird is located on top of Armature Works and is a fantastic rooftop. It's one of our favorites. They typically have a DJ show on Thursday nights. This was actually our second date.

  13. Mural Tour in St. Pete St. Pete is home to some of the most incredible mural collections in the country. You can make an afternoon of mural sighting while popping into some great local bars and restaurants for refreshments along the way.

  14. Dali Museum The Dali Museum is a St. Pete and Tampa Bay staple. They often have incredible rotating exhibits that come into the museum like the living Van Gogh exhibit. It is another one of my favorite experiences in the Tampa Bay area.

  15. A curated experience We are really fond of Hotel Haya's curated experiences like the Tequila Ocho dinner we attended. They create an artful experience that is executed better than almost any I have experienced in the

  16. Busch Gardens We bought Busch Gardens season passes for this year and I am so excited because it is such a fun date day or night. Between experiencing the thrill of the rides, checking out the animal exhibits, enjoying a treat or two and getting to walk around in the sunshine, it is a great date option.

  17. Stroll through the Farmer's Market/Saturday Market Getting to the market mid-morning, grabbing a cup of coffee and strolling through the local vendors is one of my favorite things to do. You can find some yummy snacks to try there and some to take home. You can find artwork or gifts. And you will get to know local businesses you weren't familiar with.

  18. Wine tasting at Book + Bottle Book + Bottle is my absolute favorite local business in St. Pete and the Tamoa Bay area. It is a wine bar, a coffee bar, and a book store all in one. Talk about my absolute favorite things in the world. Not to mention, the owner Terra and her staff, is incredible. This makes a great date spot. You can come in and grab a coffee and peruse the books. You can attend one of their wine tasting events. You can join one of their book clubs together. Or you could have them pick out a wine specifically curated for you. You could also find a new book to read together & try one of their new wines on tap.

  19. Explore a spring or nature trail There are so many wonderful outdoor things to do in Florida but some of the best might include exploring a spring or natural trail. You could kayak or paddle board in a spring like Weeki Wachi or you could go for a stroll on one of the cool nature trails.

  20. Live music on a patio on Beach Drive Beach drive is such a great romantic area - with the views of the water, palm tree lined streets, numerous bars and restaurants and proximity to the Pier, it is one of my favorite areas. We love grabbing charcuterie and a glass of wine at Tryst or Flute & Drume & watching one of the amazing local musicians like Jon Hollywood.

  26. Beach yoga with Salty Souls on a Saturday morning The owner of Salty Souls, Danielle, is one of my favorite yoga instructors I've encountered in Tampa Bay. She is an incredible human but she's also extremely talented at leading you through a restorative yoga and meditation practice. Her Saturday morning beach yoga sessions are the perfect way to reset and they are donation-based.

  27. Explore Sparkman Wharf You can stroll around the outdoor & grab appetizers and drinks from different food vendors & often find live music. If you want to check out one of the restaurants, The Battery is one of our favorites. They have traditional interior seating with gorgeous ambiance, great bourbon, delectable small plates and tasty entrees. Or you can utilize their walk-up window for a glass of wine and charcuterie.

  28. Spend the day in Gulfport - days, when they have markets or festivals, make it even more fun to wander through the vendors and pop into various bars & restaurants. One of my favorites is Tutto Bene.

  29. Stroll through the Florida Botanical Gardens This 100-acre Park is full of some of the most beautiful plants & flowers in the state. It's a perfect place to stroll hand-in-hand.

  30. Explore Mazzaro's Italian Market This market is amazing. You can stroll through the market and find all of the ingredients to take home and later make dinner together at home that night.
